When asked when life begins, said, “It’s not something that I feel like is really part of this conversation…every woman needs to make their own decision.”

“Why would it be so controversial for you to say when you think life starts?” asked Fusion’s Jorge Ramos.

“I don’t know that it’s controversial. I don’t know that it’s really relevant to the conversation,” answered Richards.

When pressed, Richards said that in her view life began for her three children when she delivered them.

She explained that the purpose of her organization is not to answer a question that “will be debated through the centuries,” but to provide options for pregnant women.
