The House of Representatives in a vote split down party lines voted to go on a month-long paid vacation without any debate or vote on an energy plan. Despite a recent talk of a weakening of the Democratic position of no drilling, no where, no time they opted to leave the house without further discussion.
President Bush had requested that they pass an energy bill before leaving, but the Pelosi-led Democrats ignored the request and the pleas of millions of Americans, who are struggling with the cost of gasoline and the higher prices at the market that are being driven by the high cost of gas.
But, the leader of the Democratic Party has a solution that will replace any need for drilling for domestic oil. Barack Obama has said that if we all simply keep our tires inflated and get tune-ups we will save as much gas as would be obtained from any drilling! Well that solves everything!

Giving oil companies more leases isn’t going to solve anything either. They already have plenty of leases they’re not using because it’s more profitable to keep supplies tight.

Well, I know that companies making a profit in this country is now considered a bad thing, but I would like to point out that Congress left without doing anything…including debating the issue.

The Democrats not only voted to go on vacation — they also turned the lights, camera and microphone off when the Republicans refused to go. The Republicans stayed — in the dark, no mics, no live TV feed.
It was quite an event yesterday and was called a modern day “Boston Tea Party” by one of the republican representatives.
But alal, it received little press coverage.
